Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arturo Cano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ragnar Vedhult (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cano's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Disembodied. Vedhult has chosen Swedish army orchestra - Beneath our banner as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Arturo Cano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ragnar Vedhult!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vedhult drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Cano is looking to regain half guard here but Vedhult keeps moving and retains side control.
Vedhult misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Cano wants to slow Vedhult down by chopping away at his legs.

Vedhult has his foot on Cano's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cano works his way back into a safe position though.

Vedhult escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cano gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Cano drops back looking for a leg! Vedhult is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vedhult manages to kick Cano off! Cano jumps back into Vedhult's guard.

Vedhult had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cano defends it easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Vedhult ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cano moves away.

Cano is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Cano seems to be working for a kimura but Vedhult defends the submission attempt.
Vedhult tries to get to full guard but Cano has control of the leg.
Vedhult is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Cano drops back looking for a leg! Vedhult is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vedhult manages to kick Cano off! Cano jumps back into Vedhult's guard.

Vedhult working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cano doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cano manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Vedhult is on top in guard.
Cano bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vedhult's guard.

Cano looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Vedhult with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Cano is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Vedhult has managed to free his arm - good work.
Vedhult wants to control but Cano is keeping busy.
Vedhult is pressing down on Cano's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Vedhult manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cano manages to get himself to full guard.

Vedhult thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

and Cano counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Cano tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cano has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Cano stands and throws Vedhult's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Vedhult is breathing heavily.
Vedhult is not content to let Cano control the position.
You can see the frustration on Vedhult's face as Cano controls the position.

Cano tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Cano wants to work for an arm triangle but Vedhult is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Vedhult makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vedhult.
Cano thows a big elbow that misses.
Cano is pushing down on Vedhult's leg trying to pass to half guard. Vedhult is fighting to maintain full guard but Cano has managed to sneak the leg through.

Vedhult is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cano's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cano's back!
Vedhult lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Vedhult.

Cano has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Vedhult.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Vedhult is working the ground and pound. Can Cano escape?

Cano manages to reverse the position and now he's in Vedhult's guard. Nice work there by Cano.

Cano is pressing down on Vedhult's thigh, looking to free his foot. Vedhult is holding on for now.

Cano is looking for a kimura but Vedhult is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cano to get the leverage.
Cano is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Vedhult!

Vedhult has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cano can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close second round but I would say that Arturo Cano will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Vedhult is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Vedhult throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Cano has hold of Vedhult's hands but Vedhult slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Vedhult looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

The referee warns Cano that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Vedhult sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Ragnar Vedhult comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Cano has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
