Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Neki Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitch Layden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Neki Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mitch Layden!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels throws a nice outside leg kick.

Daniels scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Layden is not content to let Daniels control the position.
Daniels working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Layden's thigh. Layden counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Daniels has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Daniels wants to pass the guard but Layden is keeping the position.
Daniels is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Layden working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Daniels doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Daniels manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Daniels gets to his feet. Layden looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Daniels has closed the distance and engaged Layden in a clinch.
Daniels is stalling here.
Layden tries for a takedown but Daniels manages to get underhooks.

Daniels breaks from the clinch.
Daniels lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Daniels shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Layden as he jumps to the side.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Daniels is defended easily by Layden.
Daniels shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Neki Daniels. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Daniels is breathing heavily.

Daniels shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Layden defends it nicely.
Daniels fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Layden avoids it really well and circles away.

Layden changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Daniels looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Layden looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Layden is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Daniels has escaped the position, nice work there.
Daniels is trying to improve his position.

Layden tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Layden decides to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mitch Layden will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Layden has his takedown stuffed
and Daniels counters with a head kick. That will keep Layden thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Layden prevents Daniels from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Layden trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Layden postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Layden pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Daniels is keeping the position for now.
Layden content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Daniels looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Daniels will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Layden postures up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Layden looks for a takedown but Daniels sprawls well.
Daniels scores with a kick to the body.
Daniels fails with the takedown

and Layden counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Daniels's guard now.
Mitch Layden has got the better of the ground game so far.

Layden drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Layden jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Daniels wants to sweep here but Layden controlling him for the moment.
Daniels is working hard here to advance position.

Layden wants to control from the top but Daniels keeps moving.
Daniels wants to get back to his feet but Layden is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Daniels not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Layden looking to pass the guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Daniels gets a clinch.

Daniels lands an elbow inside.

Daniels has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Layden clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Daniels struggling to land strikes to the head as Layden covers up.
Daniels is trying to control but Layden is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
Layden is trying desperately to improve position.
Layden tries to hold on but Daniels pushes him away.

Daniels is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Layden shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Daniels counters with a left to the body.
Neki Daniels has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mitch Layden.
Daniels shoots and misses

and Layden counters with a takedown into side control.

Layden is working to tighten is grip on Daniels's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Daniels has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Layden is really squeezing tight and eventually Daniels passes out! Layden breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
