Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between AJ Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and gerard mousasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

mousasi shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. mousasi showed some decent athleticism there.

mousasi seems to be working for a kimura but Foster defends the submission attempt.
Foster is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Foster is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but mousasi pulls his head out easily.

Foster has his foot on mousasi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. mousasi works his way back into a safe position though.

mousasi is looking for a kimura but Foster is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for mousasi to get the leverage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
mousasi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Foster manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now mousasi has Foster in his guard.
Foster won't allow mousasi to sweep him here.

mousasi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Foster manages to get himself to full guard.

mousasi is looking for the choke from the back position but Foster is controlling his hands well.

Foster has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

mousasi is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Foster is defending well though. mousasi let's go of the attempt for now.
