Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Howard The Demon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Howard The Demon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Lewis!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Chris Edwards and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Demon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Lewis avoids a punch combination nicely.

The Demon closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

The Demon manages to break the clinch.

Lewis gets the takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here as Lewis stalls from top position.
Lewis working away.
The Demon regains half guard.
Lewis working the head and body with strikes.
The Demon is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Lewis scores with a couple of nice shots.
The Demon avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Lewis.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Demon is trying to stand up here but Lewis is controlling him well.
Lewis trying to control the action but The Demon is working from the bottom.

Lewis wants to control but The Demon is keeping him busy.
Lewis prevents The Demon from standing back up.
Lewis is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and The Demon reverses the position - he's now on top in Lewis's guard.

Lewis is working an open guard so The Demon takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

The Demon has taken the fight to the clinch.
The Demon throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Lewiss head.
The Demon throws an elbow but it misses.
Lewis on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

The Demon pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lewis closes the distance and clinches up with The Demon, looking for a takedown. Lewis pushes The Demon against the cage but The Demon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The Demon is looking to clinch.
The Demon tries to close the distance and clinch but Lewis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Danga de danga de dang - Lewis scores with a four punch combination!


It looks like Howard The Demon has been cut.
Lewis tries to score a power double leg takedown but The Demon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lewis somewhat.
The Demon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lewis swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lewis lands a jab to the head.

Lewis feints and as The Demon raises his hands in defense, Lewis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The Demon is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The Demon throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.
The Demon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lewis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The Demon tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The Demon is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Lewis trying to control the position from guard on top but The Demon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The Demon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Lewis looks for a takedown but The Demon sprawls well.
Howard The Demon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rob Lewis.
The Demon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Lewis counters with a low kick, right behind The Demon 's knee.

Lewis is looking to clinch but The Demon is avoiding it.
Howard The Demon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The Demon cracks Lewis with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Lewis moves into range and clinches up with The Demon.

Lewis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The Demon has his takedown stuffed

and Lewis counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in The Demon's guard now.
Lewis trying to control but The Demon is working from the bottom.

The Demon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lewis defends it easily.
Lewis wants to control from the top but The Demon keeps moving.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lewis postures up.
Lewis lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rob Lewis dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Howard The Demon's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Lewis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says The Demon as he avoids it easily.
The Demon dives in and grabs Lewis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lewis pushes down on The Demon's head and hops out.

so Lewis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Lewis thows a big elbow that misses.
Lewis showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Rob Lewis has got the better of the ground game so far.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The Demon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

and The Demon counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by The Demon.
The Demon tries to stall but Lewis uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
The Demon is pressed up against the cage. Lewis has hold of a leg and is looking to drag The Demon down to the mat. The Demon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Howard The Demon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rob Lewis.
The Demon tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Lewis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The Demon looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

The Demon looking for a sweep. Not yet The Demon, not yet.
Lewis throwing strikes from guard but The Demon blocks nicely.

Lewis gets to his feet - The Demon follows without any prompting.
Howard The Demon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Lewis scores a takedown into full mount!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lewis fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
The referee warns The Demon that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Lewis jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… The Demon is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by The Demon and Lewis has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Lewis throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
You can see the frustration on The Demon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Lewis looks up at the clock and then as The Demon takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lewis smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
The Demon is trying to improve his position.
Lewis lands some shots froms side control.

Lewis tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lewis has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The Demon wants to get back to his feet.
The Demon tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
The Demon is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
The Demon takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Lewis is looking to take a break and control but The Demon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The Demon takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rob Lewis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!

The Demon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The Demon trying to stall but Lewis improves his position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lewis using the Thai plumb to throw knees but The Demon has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
The Demon tries to break free but Lewis pushes him back against the cage.

Lewis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Lewis darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The Demon tries to roll over but Lewis keeps him under control.
Lewis is taking a breather. The Demon says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The Demon lands with a few short shots to the body.
Lewis scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Lewis wants to lay and pray for a moment but The Demon keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The Demon is trying to get back to full guard.
The Demon is not content to let Lewis control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The Demon closes the distance and clinches.
The Demon tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Lewis avoids it.

Lewis has picked The Demon up - he's going for a ride! Lewis dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Lewis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Lewis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks The Demon with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Lewis is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lewis wants to pass to mount but The Demon is defending the position.
The Demon blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lewis.
Lewis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but The Demon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lewis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and The Demon counters with a shoot takedown. Lewis fights it but they end up in guard.

Howard The Demon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rob Lewis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The Demon postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lewis is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of The Demon, into his guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rob Lewis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Lewis winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
