Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mathias Astala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Mack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Astala comes to the cage accompanied by Turisas - Cursed Be Iron. Mack has chosen 'Whispers in the Dark' - Skillet as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are William Gold, Daniel Bishop and Chris Edwards.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mack misses with a jab, cross combination.

Mack drives through with a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Mack won't allow Astala to sweep him here.
Mack stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Astala swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mack has gone for a leg lock! Astala slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mack's guard.

Mack is looking to get back to full guard here but Astala has managed to pass to side control instead.
Astala cracks Mack with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Mack is desperately trying to improve his position but Astala has a good base and remains in mount.

Mack wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Astala.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Astala tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mack paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Astala moves in looking to clinch but Mack pushes him off.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Astala has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.

Jimmy Mack showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Mack looks to land a combination but Astala avoids it well.
Astala is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Astala tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mack paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mack forces Astala back against the cage and clinches.
Mack is looking to break free of the clinch but Astala has double underhooks.
Mack tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Astala just stands there and leans against the cage.

Mathias Astala has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Mack.
A knee to the head by Astala.

It looks like Jimmy Mack has been cut.
Mack takes an elbow to the forehead.
Astala using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mack has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Astala lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Astala has picked Mack up - he's going for a ride! Astala dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mack regains full guard. Nicely done.

Astala tries to stand but Mack is controlling from the bottom.
Astala pushes down on Mack's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Astala stalling away here and it's allowed Mack to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Astala wants to pass the guard but Mack is keeping the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Mack isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Astala stacks Mack on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Astala!
Astala gets to mount! Mack was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
