The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Motta swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Motta loads up on a big right hand but Points slips the punch.
Points on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Motta throws a lazy right hand but Points sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Motta jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Points throws a head kick that misses.
Points closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Points drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Points takes one on the button.
Motta throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Motta throws out a loose jab but Points uses good head movement to avoid it.
Points moves out of range as Motta strikes.
The fight stays on the outside here - Points looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Points lands a body shot.
Motta misses with a straight right.
Motta keeps the fight on the outside.
Points tries to land a front kick but Motta steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Points fails with an attempt to clinch.
Points misses with a looping left.
Motta pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Ed Motta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Motta throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Points is looking to clinch but Motta is avoiding it.
A slow jab from Motta misses its intended target.
Motta ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Motta throws a hook but Points avoids it easily.
Points lands a nice looking kick to the body. Motta takes a step back to recover.

Motta throws a looping overhand right but Points ducks down to avoid it.

Points moves into the clinch.
Points lands a nice shot to the body.
Motta is breathing heavily.
Points missing with knees to the body.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Motta as Points tries to tie him up.
Points tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Motta's elbow.
Motta blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Points pushes off an throws an elbow but Motta leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Points breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Points moves in looking to clinch but Motta pushes him off.
Points tries to clinch but Motta is having none of it.
Points showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Motta.
Nice defenses there by Points.
Motta avoids a punch combination nicely.

The fighters circling - Motta throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Motta is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Points moves out of range of the strikes.

Points dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Motta. That did some damage!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Points lands a big head kick that sends Motta tumbling to the mat! Points takes a step backwards and waves Motta back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Ed Motta has been cut.
Points throws a quick head kick that knocks Motta silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Points is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.
