The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sayer has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from McGowan finds it's way round the side to connect with Sayer's head.
Sayer looking to land some kicks to the body here.
McGowan lands with a kick to the temple. Sayer shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sayer shoots in but McGowan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sayer looks for a takedown but McGowan sprawls well.

Sayer tries to keep at a distance but McGowan has taken the fight into the clinch.

McGowan breaks the clinch.
McGowan throws a head kick that misses.
Sayer tries to clinch up
and Sayer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
McGowan stuffs the takedown.
Sean McGowan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hassan Sayer.
Sayer misses with a low kick.
Sayer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sayer wants to clinch up but McGowan keeps it at a distance.
McGowan throws a right and a left that Sayer avoids nicely.
McGowan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sayer defends it nicely.

McGowan lands with a nice combination. Sayer backs away looking to recover.
Sayer looks gassed!
Sayer has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by McGowan.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McGowan forces Sayer back against the cage and clinches.
McGowan putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Sayer in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
McGowan lands a shot to the body.

McGowan breaks from the clinch.
McGowan stalks Sayer and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sayer's face. Sayer staggers backwards, shaken.
Nice shot lands for McGowan.

McGowan drops Sayer with a beautiful combination! Sayer stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - McGowan is looking for the KO!

McGowan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sayer is trying desperately to land a takedown but McGowan is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Sayer.
McGowan scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
McGowan connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Sayer! He's out on his feet! McGowan rushes in and drops Sayer with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
