Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Heartman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Declan Newell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heartman comes to the cage accompanied by Heartman Theme song. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

10 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Declan Newell!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newell throws a nice looking combination but Heartman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Newell dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Heartman uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Newell.
Newell lands a nice looking body shot.

Heartman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Newell as he jumps to the side.

Heartman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Heartman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Newell can't escape the position.
Heartman looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Heartman cracks Newell with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Newell has given up his back. Will we see Heartman going for some submissions?
Heartman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Heartman is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Newell has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Heartman looking to break Newell's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Newell remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Heartman will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Heartman is trying to stick to Newell's back but Newell is turning into Heartman. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Heartman's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Newell.
Heartman is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Newell looking to improve position, pressing down on Heartman's thigh with his hand. Heartman seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Newell paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Newell's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Heartman picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
