The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson misses with the combination.
Jackson tries to clinch there but SIMPSON circles away.
Jackson is looking to clinch but SIMPSON is avoiding it.
Jackson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but SIMPSON swivels and escapes.
SIMPSON goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
SIMPSON jabbing away but nothing is landing.
SIMPSON takes a swing at Jackson's ribcage but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
SIMPSON throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch but SIMPSON swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
SIMPSON gets caught flat footed, as Jackson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Jackson stands up and waves to SIMPSON to follow him.
Jackson is breathing heavily.
Jackson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has SIMPSON pinned against the cage. SIMPSON gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jackson slips a straight right by SIMPSON.
SIMPSON fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jackson manages to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Jackson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
SIMPSON is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Jackson has his hands clasped together but SIMPSON extends an breaks Jackson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by SIMPSON.
