Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Euclides Cunhha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Lilja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cunhha comes to the cage accompanied by Raimundus - Eu quero ver o oco. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Euclides Cunhha!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Lilja!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lilja throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cunhha was covering up waiting for the punch and Lilja finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Lilja avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lilja stands up and waves to Cunhha to follow him.
Cunhha scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Lilja managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Cunhha.
Lilja tries to bench press Cunhha off him but Cunhha keeps the position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Cunhha is trying to get an arm triangle but Lilja is defending well.
Lilja is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Cunhha has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lilja tries for a takedown but Cunhha circles away easily
and Cunhha counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Lilja is trying to stand up here but Cunhha is controlling him well.
Cunhha is working for a kimura but Lilja is defending it quite comfortably.

Lilja is looking to control Cunhha's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lilja avoid being mounted?
Cunhha is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Cunhha is breathing heavily.
Cunhha looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Cunhha wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lilja keeps working.
Cunhha is looking for a kimura but Lilja is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cunhha to get the leverage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Cunhha counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lilja!
Cunhha misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Cunhha has hold of Lilja's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lilja manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Cunhha goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Lilja is on top in guard.
Lilja pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cunhha is keeping the position for now.
Lilja postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cunhha looking for a guillotine here but Lilja defends easily.

Lilja works over Cunhha with some ground and pound from guard.
Lilja working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Lilja keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Cunhha's head.
Lilja drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cunhha manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lilja has Cunhha in his guard.
Lilja has control of Cunhha's left arm, preventing Cunhha from doing any damage.
Cunhha stops Lilja from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Euclides Cunhha dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Lilja shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cunhha is trying to defend but Lilja finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Lilja is working for a kimura but Cunhha is defending it quite comfortably.
Lilja tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Cunhha is looking for a sweep. Lilja is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lilja is trying to stand up here but Cunhha is controlling him well.
Cunhha is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Cunhha is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Cunhha prevents Lilja from standing back up.
Lilja is holding on to half guard well.
Cunhha is trying to control the action in half guard but Lilja is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Lilja shoots and misses
and Cunhha decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lilja's guard.

Lilja has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Cunhha off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Lilja gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Lilja wants to sweep but no luck.
Cunhha tries to free his leg and advance position but Lilja is retaining full guard.
Cunhha drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cunhha jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Cunhha is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lilja is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lilja has escaped and now he's on top!
Euclides Cunhha overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Lilja stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Cunhha has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Lilja manages to get his head free but now Cunhha has transitioned to an armbar! Lilja grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Cunhha! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
