The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Minota shoots in and bounces Solon off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Minota thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Solon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Minota defends well.
Solon is trying to keep Minota in close.
Minota is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Minota stands and throws Solon's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Minota wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Solon, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Minota avoids the strikes from the bottom by Solon.

Minota is trying to get an arm triangle but Solon is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Solon is not content to let Minota control the position.

Solon is trying to control Minota's posture but Minota avoids it.

Minota prevents Solon from getting the reversal.
Minota is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Solon to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Solon shrugs it off.
Minota looking to control but Solon is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Solon tries to hold on but Minota postures up.
Minota wants to control the pace but Solon is squirming around nicely.
Minota jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Solon manages to avoid the submission attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Solon moves into the clinch.
Minota changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Solon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Solon rushes Minota and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Solon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Minota fails with a takedown attempt.
Solon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Minota sprawls well initially but Solon persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Minota avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Solon.
Minota has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Solon is working away from the top position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Minota with a lazy takedown attempt
and Solon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Minota's guard.
Minota is looking for a triangle here but Solon uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Solon wants to control but Minota is keeping him busy.
Solon works to advance to full mount. Minota defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Minota really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Solon lands a big elbow.
Minota tries to hold on but Solon pushes him away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Solon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Minota wants to control but Solon is having none of it.

Minota is working hard here to advance position.
Solon unloads with some shots from mount but Minota bucks and avoids them well.
Minota bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Minota wants to control from the top but Solon keeps moving.
Minota has gone for a leg lock! Solon slips out almost immediately though and dives into Minota's guard.
Minota looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Solon trying to control but Minota is working from the bottom.
Solon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Minota looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Solon is defending well. Minota quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Solon has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Minota celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
