The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Styles throws a head kick that misses.

and Parr counters with a left and a right that stings Styles.

Parr works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parr wants to stand but Styles is controlling his posture from full guard.
Styles is breathing heavily.
Parr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Styles swivels though and keeps the full guard.

and Parr counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Parr stands up and beckons Styles to join him on the feet.

Parr closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Styles is trying to control but can't.

Styles takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Styles tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Parr throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Styles was covering up waiting for the punch and Parr finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Parr won't allow Styles to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Parr is pressing down on Styles's thigh, looking to free his foot. Styles is holding on for now.
