Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Best Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mabishiro Sakamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mabishiro Sakamoto is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Best Fighter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mabishiro Sakamoto!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Bruno Lombardi and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fighter scores with a leg kick.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
Fighter misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sakamoto.

Fighter closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fighter tries to pass to full mount but Sakamoto defends it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sakamoto is looking to improve his position.
Fighter seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
It looks like Fighter is going to stand back up.
Sakamoto is trying to stand back up but Fighter is controlling him

Fighter is looking for a kimura but Sakamoto is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fighter to get the leverage.

and Fighter counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Fighter.

Fighter avoids the elbow strike from Sakamoto, against the cage.
Sakamoto tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Fighter smiles and moves away.
Best Fighter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mabishiro Sakamoto.
Fighter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Fighter closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sakamoto circles away.
Sakamoto tries to clinch but Fighter moves out of range.
Sakamoto rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fighter moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Fighter gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Fighter advances position into side control!
Fighter trying to control the position but Sakamoto is working away.
Sakamoto is looking to reverse the position.
Sakamoto sneaks back into half guard.
Fighter wants to stand but Sakamoto has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Sakamoto wants to control but Fighter is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Fighter looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Fighter is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Fighter is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Fighter works his foot free and advances to mount.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Fighter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sakamoto but Sakamoto pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sakamoto doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Fighter counters with a takedown into side control.
Sakamoto is looking to reverse the position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sakamoto is squirming around, avoiding Fighter's attempts to control the action.

Sakamoto is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Sakamoto sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Sakamoto is concentrating on defense, preventing Fighter from advancing position.
Fighter prevents Sakamoto from improving his position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Fighter is just content to waste time from the top position. Sakamoto takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Fighter advances position into side control!
Fighter works to advance to full mount. Sakamoto defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Fighter trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Sakamoto wants to control but Fighter is having none of it.
Fighter manages to capitalize on a mistake by Sakamoto to take his back!

Fighter is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Sakamoto defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Sakamoto breaks Fighter's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Fighter has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Fighter wants to stand and escape but Sakamoto is having none of it.
Fighter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sakamoto is one step ahead there.
Best Fighter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fighter had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sakamoto defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Best Fighter dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Sakamoto tries to keep at a distance but Fighter has taken the fight into the clinch.

Fighter has control of Sakamoto's left arm, preventing Sakamoto from doing any damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mabishiro Sakamoto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fighter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
