Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John McFadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John McFadden!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McFadden misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Green tries to clinch but McFadden is having none of it.
Green avoids a kick to the body.

Green moves into the clinch.
McFadden tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Green just stands there and leans against the cage.
McFadden tries to circle away but Green has him pinned against the cage.
A bit of stalling here from Green.

Green's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

McFadden breaks the clinch.
McFadden lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


It looks like Marcus Green has been cut.

McFadden throws a sloppy head kick and Green moves out of range easily.

Green clinches up with McFadden and pushes him back against the cage.

Green breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McFadden wants to clinch

and Green counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McFadden works his way to full guard. Good work.

McFadden pushes Green off and gets back to his feet.
McFadden shoots in looking for a takedown. Green tries to sprawl out of it but McFadden keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Green manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

McFadden throws a head kick that misses.
Green lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Green scores with a jab to the body.
McFadden is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

McFadden clinches up with Green and pushes him back against the cage.
Green unloads a knee to the mid-section. McFadden lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
McFadden looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It looks like John McFadden has been cut.
Green is struggling to control the position.
Green unloads a knee to the mid-section. McFadden lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Green creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

McFadden tries to keep at a distance but Green has taken the fight into the clinch.

Marcus Green seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McFadden shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Marcus Green has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John McFadden.
Green throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
McFadden will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

McFadden takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McFadden looking to break Green's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Green remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise McFadden will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

McFadden gets to his feet. Green looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and McFadden counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Green's guard now.
