Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Nobis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rolando Mann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peter Nobis could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Rolando Mann's chin.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Nobis!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rolando Mann!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nobis moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Nobis connects with a good right hand that stumbles Mann. Mann circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Nobis throws a good cross that connects.


Mann is rocked!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Mann.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nobis is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Mann throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Mann has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mann misses with the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nobis slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Nobis wants to stand but Mann is controlling the position.
Mann is fighting to break Nobis's control of his arms but Nobis is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Mann wants to control from the top but Nobis keeps moving.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mann decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Nobis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mann swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Nobis thuds his right hand into Mann's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Nobis throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nobis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mann circles away quickly and effectively.
Nobis sizes up Mann with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Mann is still on wobbly legs! Can Nobis finish him?

Mann feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mann seems to have recovered his senses.

Nobis wants to stand up but Mann is controlling him.
Nobis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mann decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

letting Nobis counter with a right hand.

and Mann counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mann wants to control from the top but Nobis keeps moving.
Nobis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mann is one step ahead there.

Mann looking to sit in guard and control but Nobis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Nobis thows a huge punch but Mann dodges it nicely.
Nobis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mann keeps working.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Mann looking for submissions off his back.
Mann is looking to control Nobis's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mann avoid being mounted?
Mann regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Nobis.
Mann wants to control but Nobis passes easily into half guard.
Nobis wants to stand up but Mann has a hold of him and won't allow it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nobis throwing shots but Mann is blocking nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Nobis dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Nobis scores with a sloppy right hand. Mann should have avoided that one.
Nobis dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Peter Nobis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nobis digs a good body shot into Mann's ribs.

Nobis lands a left and a right that send Mann crashing to the mat, dazed. Nobis thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Nobis throws a right hand that Mann ducks under and follows up with a left that Mann also avoids with ease.

Nobis gets caught flat footed, as Mann shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Mann postures up in Nobis's guard and throws a big left but Nobis blocks it.
Nobis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Nobis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mann is aware though and is defending well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Nobis wants to stand and escape but Mann is having none of it.

Nobis is working an open guard so Mann takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Mann shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Nobis manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Nobis looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Mann has picked Nobis up and slammed him! Nobis can't keep hold of the triangle and Mann manages to pass to side control!

Nobis is looking to control Mann's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nobis avoid being mounted?

Nobis looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Mann pushes past his half guard into mount!

Mann sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Mann throwing strikes here but Nobis is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Mann is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Nobis to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Nobis shrugs it off.

Nobis is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Nobis swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Mann can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nobis is looking to escape.
BOOM! Mann connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Peter Nobis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nobis wants to control but Mann is having none of it.
Rolando Mann has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Peter Nobis.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nobis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
