Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Popinksi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deon Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Deon Allen!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jonathan Paton and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Popinksi swats away the attempt to clinch by Allen.
Allen tries to clinch up but Popinksi circles away and keeps his distance.
Allen avoids a punch combination nicely.
Allen misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Popinksi.
Allen tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Allen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Popinksi.
Allen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Popinksi swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Allen closes the distance and clinches up with Popinksi, looking for a takedown. Allen pushes Popinksi against the cage but Popinksi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Popinksi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Allen counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Allen slaps away a takedown attempt from Popinksi, before circling back to the center of the mat.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Allen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Allen lands in his opponent's guard.
Popinksi thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Allen misses with a double jab
and Popinksi counters with a nice body kick.
Popinksi tries for a takedown but Allen circles away easily

and Allen counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Allen.
Popinksi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Allen's guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Deon Allen dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Popinksi fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Allen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Popinksi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Gabriel Popinksi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Allen tries to clinch up.

A nice inside leg kick there by Popinksi. That's going to slow Allen down.

Popinksi closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Popinksi tries to pull guard but Allen won't allow it.

Popinksi pulls guard effortlessly.
Popinksi wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Popinksi is working an open guard so Allen takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Allen counters with a nice double leg into side control. Popinksi won't be happy with that.
Allen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Popinksi keeps working.
Popinksi gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Popinksi has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Allen. Oh but Popinksi has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Allen goes limp - he's gone! Popinksi jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
