The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ives throws a big shot that misses.

Ives connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Max's hands.
Ives throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ives lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

It looks like Pepsi Max has been cut.
Ives will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Max looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Max shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ives as he jumps to the side.
Johnny Ives seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Max shoots in for a double leg but Ives sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Ives lands with a good body shot.
Ives lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Max looks gassed!
Max takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Ives scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Ives slaps away a takedown attempt from Max, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ives scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ives lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Max circles away quickly and effectively.
Ives lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Max at a distance.
Max is trying desperately to land a takedown but Ives is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Max.
Max is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Ives ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Ives cracks Max with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

That has opened up Pepsi Max's cut even more.
Ives lands with a shot to the body.
Ives stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ives wants it to stay on the feet.
Max takes a jab right on the kisser.
Max takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Ives fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Max on the side of the head.
Ives throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Max takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Ives bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Max's head backwards.

Ives drops Max with a beautiful combination! Max stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ives is looking for the KO!

The cut above Pepsi Max's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Max takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Ives connects with a good right hand that stumbles Max. Max circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Pepsi Max's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Ives throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Max stumbling backwards into the cage! Max bounces back off the cage towards Ives, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Ives lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Ives celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
