Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jim Shockey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Markus Rieech (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rieech has chosen DMX ft. Black Violin-Im a Ryder as his entrance music. Markus Rieech has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Markus Rieech!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shockey fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Rieech throws a right hand that Shockey ducks under and follows up with a left that Shockey also avoids with ease.

Shockey bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Shockey trying to control the position but Rieech is working away.
Rieech defending against the ground and pound.
Shockey in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Rieech is fighting to break Shockey's control of his arms but Shockey is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

and Shockey counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Rieech is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Shockey throws a series of strikes that have Rieech backpedaling.

Shockey decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

and Shockey counters with a three punch combo that has Rieech backing up. Rieech nods at Shockey to acknowledge the strikes.
Shockey buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Shockey stalks Rieech and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rieech's face. Rieech staggers backwards, shaken.
Shockey bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Shockey misses with a wild combination.
Shockey is looking to clinch.
Rieech throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rieech misses the shot to the body.

Shockey looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Rieech!
Shockey unloads with some shots from mount but Rieech bucks and avoids them well.

Shockey throws some wild stikes that Rieech manages to avoid easily.

Shockey is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rieech has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rieech!
Shockey has a closed guard, preventing Rieech from standing up.
Shockey is looking to stand up but Rieech isn't so interested in that idea.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Rieech takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Rieech throws a head kick but Shockey moves out of range.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shockey decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Rieech checks a leg kick nicely.
Shockey throws a leg kick but Rieech sees it coming and moves out of range.

Shockey has Rieech up against the cage in a clinch.
Rieech's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Shockey breaks from the clinch.
Shockey slips a jab and a cross from Rieech.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Shockey tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Shockey looks to land a combination but Rieech avoids it well.
Shockey lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Shockey is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rieech can do to turn this around?

Shockey bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Rieech's head backwards.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Shockey.

Shockey stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rieech.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Shockey counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rieech's guard now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Shockey is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Rieech breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rieech throws a head kick but Shockey moves out of range.

and Shockey counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rieech!
Shockey wants to control the pace but Rieech is squirming around nicely.
Rieech wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Shockey.

Shockey throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Shockey is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rieech to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rieech shrugs it off.
Markus Rieech has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Shockey thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Shockey goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Rieech is on top in guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rieech won't allow Shockey to get back to his feet.
Shockey keeping moving, preventing Rieech from controlling successfully.

Shockey scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Jim Shockey is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Rieech scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Well Shockey has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
