Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Zaginho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roberto Zaginho is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roberto Zaginho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Shields!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zaginho shoots in for a takedown but Shields shows good takedown defense.
Zaginho looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Zaginho shoots in for a double leg but Shields sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roberto Zaginho. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shields doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Zaginho counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Shields's guard now.
Shields wants to stand and escape but Zaginho is having none of it.

Zaginho drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Shields manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Zaginho has Shields in his guard.

Zaginho had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shields defends it easily.

Zaginho is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Shields defends well.

Zaginho is looking for a triangle but Shields pushes his legs off easily.
Shields really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zaginho. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Shields lands a nice short elbow.

Shields is nestled in close to Zaginho, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shields connects with a nice short shot to Zaginho's temple.

Shields looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Zaginho with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Shields takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

and Zaginho counters with a nice double leg into side control. Shields won't be happy with that.

Zaginho is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Shields has escaped the position, nice work there.

Zaginho goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Shields rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Zaginho's guard! Nice work there by Shields!
Shields postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Shields stands up over Zaginho, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Zaginho is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Zaginho has his foot on Shields's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shields works his way back into a safe position though.

Shields looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Zaginho is fending him off so far but Shields persists. Nope, Zaginho circles away and we're back to standing.

Shields looks up at the clock and then as Zaginho takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Shields smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Zaginho moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Shields content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Shields is sitting in close to Zaginho's body. Zaginho has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Shields is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Shields is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Zaginho.
