Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Suarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Goldberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Suarez comes to the cage accompanied by sup now homie?. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Goldberg!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Suarez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Suarez tries to move into full mount but can't pass Goldberg's legs.
Goldberg can't do much from the bottom here.

Suarez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Goldberg, who protects the arm well.
You can see the frustration on Goldberg's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Suarez looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Goldberg is avoiding damage well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Goldberg is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Suarez has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Suarez wants to control but Goldberg is keeping him busy.
Goldberg tries to buck Suarez off but Suarez is having none of it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Suarez shoots in but Goldberg avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Goldberg has Suarez up against the cage in a clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Suarez is stalling in the full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Goldberg not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Goldberg should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Goldberg holds on and takes a little breather.
Suarez is working Goldberg over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Suarez throwing strikes but missing.
Suarez wants to get up but he can't break Goldberg's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Suarez is breathing heavily.
Goldberg pulls Suarez in close to his closed guard and prevents Suarez from doing any damage or advancing position.
Goldberg's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Suarez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Suarez tries to stand but Goldberg is controlling from the bottom.

A close round but Mike Goldberg will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Suarez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Suarez tries to keep at a distance but Goldberg has taken the fight into the clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ryan Suarez just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Suarez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Goldberg looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Suarez is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Goldberg will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Suarez dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Suarez closes the distance and clinches up with Goldberg, looking for a takedown. Suarez pushes Goldberg against the cage but Goldberg circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Goldberg counters with a nice body kick.

Goldberg closes the distance and clinches.

Suarez has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Goldberg clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Suarez trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Goldberg doesn't escape.
Goldberg rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Goldberg wants to control but Suarez is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Suarez content to control rather than advance.
Goldberg is trying to maintain the position but Suarez is very close to passing his half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Still in half guard, Suarez seems content to control.
Suarez stops Goldberg from getting back to his feet.

Goldberg is trying to control Suarez's posture. Suarez takes advantage of the lull and advances to side control. He also appears to have an arm triangle here! Uh oh, big trouble for Goldberg! Suarez is rotating here... this could be the end... Goldberg is out! Suarez has ended this one emphatically! Great submission!
