Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Sakamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rodrigo Abreu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abreu has chosen Sepultura - Roots Bloody Roots as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The key to victory for Paul Sakamoto has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abreu shoots for a double leg takedown but Sakamoto sprawls well. He's pushed Abreu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Abreu shoots for a takedown but Sakamoto saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Sakamoto looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Horrible takedown by Abreu or perhaps it was just good defense by Sakamoto which made him look bad.

Abreu shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sakamoto as he avoids it easily.
Abreu throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sakamoto's waist but Sakamoto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Abreu off to one side.
Abreu tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sakamoto sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Abreu somewhat.

Abreu bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Sakamoto cracks Abreu with a right hand to the side of the head.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Abreu.
Sakamoto will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sakamoto throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sakamoto scores with a hook to the body. Abreu takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Sakamoto digs a good body shot into Abreu's ribs.
Sakamoto scores with a punch to the head.
Sakamoto jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Sakamoto lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Sakamoto is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Abreu looks for a takedown but Sakamoto sprawls well.
Sakamoto throws a lazy right hand but Abreu sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Abreu misses with a takedown attempt - Sakamoto sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Sakamoto loads up on a big right hand but Abreu slips the punch.
Abreu closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sakamoto circles away.
Abreu changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sakamoto tries to avoid it but Abreu manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sakamoto to the ground. Sakamoto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Abreu uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sakamoto.
Sakamoto throws a low kick but Abreu avoids it.
Abreu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sakamoto pinned against the cage. Sakamoto gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Abreu might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Sakamoto has got the better of the exchanges.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sakamoto, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
