The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ryan doesn't manage to clinch there - Graham circles away.
Ryan is looking to clinch.

Ryan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Graham paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Graham shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ryan as he avoids it easily.

and Graham counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Graham works his way into side control.
You can see the frustration on Ryan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Graham cracks Ryan with a big right hand but Ryan just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ryan manages to get back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Graham has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Graham has hold of Ryan's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ryan manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Ryan is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Graham moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Ryan has worked his arm free - good work by Ryan!
Ryan tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Graham presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Ryan is looking to improve his position but Graham isn't that keen on the idea.

Graham wants to pass the guard but Ryan is defending well.
Ryan is looking for a sweep. Graham is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Ryan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Graham is controlling him.

Ryan wriggles free and stands up.
Graham tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ryan swivels and escapes.
Patrick Ryan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexander Graham.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Graham connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Ryan some visible discomfort.

Graham is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Ryan looks calm but he's in trouble here. Graham gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Ryan is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Graham lets go of the hold and Ryan can pop his arm back in it's socket.
