Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kazuya Takeshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaz Hayabusa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hayabusa is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Sandstorm - Darude. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takeshi swinging wilding here.
Hayabusa looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Takeshi closes the distance and lands a one-two.

It looks like Kaz Hayabusa has been cut.
Good standup being displayed there by Takeshi as he connects with a hook.
Hayabusa blocks a jab.
Takeshi throws a right hand that Hayabusa ducks under and follows up with a left that Hayabusa also avoids with ease.
Takeshi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Takeshi misses with a straight left.
Takeshi looks to land a combination. Hayabusa sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Takeshi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hayabusa.
Hayabusa swats away the attempt to clinch by Takeshi.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hayabusa wants to sweep but no luck.
Takeshi works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Hayabusa is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Takeshi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Takeshi is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hayabusa!
Takeshi fails to advance to Hayabusa's back.

Takeshi stands up from mount. Strange move.
Hayabusa dodges the punch combination from Takeshi.
Hayabusa shoots in and drives through. Takeshi sprawls well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Takeshi tries a low kick but Hayabusa avoids it.
Takeshi ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Kazuya Takeshi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Takeshi misses with a few strikes there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hayabusa is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Takeshi drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hayabusa gets full guard.
Hayabusa tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Takeshi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Takeshi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hayabusa on the ground.

Hayabusa working for submissions but it's allowed Takeshi to get to half guard.
Still in half guard, Takeshi seems content to control.
Takeshi blocks the strikes from Hayabusa.
Takeshi is taking a breather. Hayabusa says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Hayabusa tries to get to full guard but Takeshi has control of the leg.

Takeshi content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Hayabusa trying to control from the bottom.
Hayabusa is looking to improve his position.
Hayabusa is trying to stand.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Takeshi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
No joy there for Takeshi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hayabusa walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hayabusa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Takeshi makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

and Takeshi counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Kazuya Takeshi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kaz Hayabusa.

Hayabusa changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Takeshi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hayabusa is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Takeshi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Takeshi is trying to control Hayabusa's posture but Hayabusa avoids it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Takeshi counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hayabusa's knee momentarily.
Takeshi fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hayabusa on the side of the head.

Hayabusa wants to stand but Takeshi has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Hayabusa is thwarting Takeshi's attempts to control the position.
Takeshi is refusing to be controlled, as Hayabusa sits in half guard.

Hayabusa tries to pass the half guard into mount. Takeshi knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Takeshi is staying active underneath Hayabusa, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Well Takeshi has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
