The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcmannus looks to land a combination but whiting avoids it well.

Mcmannus is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in whiting's half guard.
Mcmannus tries to stand and escape but whiting is controlling the position.

whiting looking for submissions off his back.

Mcmannus stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows whiting to get to his feet.

Mcmannus takes the fight into the clinch.
Mcmannus has whiting pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. whiting manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
whiting has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Mcmannus jumps guard.
Mcmannus trying to keep a closed guard but whiting is proving a slippery customer.
whiting tries to free his leg and advance position but Mcmannus is retaining full guard.

Mcmannus is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
whiting trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcmannus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mcmannus manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. whiting manages to get himself to full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

whiting has control of Mcmannus's left arm, preventing Mcmannus from doing any damage.

whiting looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mcmannus won't allow whiting to sweep him here.
whiting knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mcmannus on the ground.

whiting is breathing heavily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Mcmannus is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Mcmannus throws a series of strikes that have whiting backpedaling.

Mcmannus throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. whiting was covering up waiting for the punch and Mcmannus finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Mcmannus gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Mcmannus closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. whiting did well to prevent Mcmannus getting side control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mcmannus connects with a nice short shot to whiting's temple.
whiting might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mcmannus controlling the action here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mcmannus's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
whiting trying to get back to full guard but Mcmannus takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

whiting tries to keep at a distance but Mcmannus has taken the fight into the clinch.
Mcmannus pushes whiting back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Mcmannus lands a good knee to the midsection. whiting won't want to take too many of those.

Mcmannus has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed whiting clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
whiting covers up after that shot from Mcmannus.
whiting is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Mcmannus.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
