Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Koshi Kansaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Kabanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quinton Kabanov is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Koshi Kansaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Quinton Kabanov!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Fujiwara and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kansaki has a takedown stuffed.
Kabanov wants to clinch up but Kansaki keeps it at a distance.

Kansaki shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kabanov is trying to defend but Kansaki finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Kabanov is trying to maintain the position but Kansaki is very close to passing his half guard.

Kabanov seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kansaki accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A head kick from Kansaki lands but Kabanov takes it in his stride.

Kansaki shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kabanov manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kabanov wants to stand but Kansaki is controlling the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kansaki stands and throws Kabanov's legs to the side, diving into side control.
You can see the frustration on Kabanov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Kansaki stands up.
Kabanov stalks Kansaki and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kansaki's face. Kansaki staggers backwards, shaken.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kansaki decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Kansaki content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Kansaki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kabanov keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Koshi Kansaki dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kansaki is controlling the pace.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Koshi Kansaki just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Kansaki shoots in and bounces Kabanov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Kabanov is trying to control the position but Kansaki postures up.
Kabanov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kansaki kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Kabanov wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Kansaki manages to pass to side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kansaki is trying to control the action in half guard but Kabanov is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Kabanov makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Well Kansaki has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
