PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimbo Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Jordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Price has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Kevin Jordan has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jimbo Price's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jimbo Price!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kevin Jordan!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jordan closes the distance and clinches up with Price, looking for a takedown. Jordan pushes Price against the cage but Price circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jordan has closed the distance and engaged Price in a clinch.

Jordan manages to pull guard.
Price tries to free his leg and advance position but Jordan is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jordan throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Jordan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Price can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Price wants to control from the top but Jordan keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jordan pulls Price in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Price pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jordan is keeping the position for now.
Price is breathing heavily.

Price wants to pass the guard but Jordan is keeping the position.

Jordan scrambles and gets back to his feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Jordan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Jordan is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
I looks like Jordan might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Jordan wants to control but Price is keeping him busy.
Price on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Price tries to get out of the position.

Jimbo Price has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Jordan.
Price has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Jordan avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Jordan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Jordan seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Price on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Jordan decides to stand and escape the position.

Jordan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Price sprawls well initially but Jordan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Price gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jordan to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Price is trying to control the position but Jordan postures up.
Jordan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Price swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jordan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Price is trying to escape the mount but Jordan keeps good control and instead manages to take Price's back.

Price defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Jordan's arms.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Jordan controlling the positon.
Price tries to escape the position.
Price looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Jordan is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Price defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Jordan is not going to allow Price to sit and survive in this position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jordan punishes Price with strikes from the back mount.
Jordan has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Price's body.
Price controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin Jordan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Price's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Jordan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jordan moves out of range of the body kick from Price.

Jordan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Price manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Jordan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Price wants to stand and escape but Jordan is having none of it.

Price is working an open guard so Jordan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Jordan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Price tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Jordan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Jordan's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Let's hope that Jordan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Jordan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Price's guard.

Jordan has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Jordan lands a heavy elbow.

Jordan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Price in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Price is desperately trying to improve his position but Jordan has a good base and remains in mount.
Price takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Jordan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
