Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Diego St Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Butter Bean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Butter Bean!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Russell Pearce and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bean shoots in but no luck this time.

St Pierre closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Bean is refusing to be controlled, as St Pierre sits in half guard.
St Pierre prevents Bean from improving his position.
Bean is not content to let St Pierre control the position.
St Pierre wants to advance to full mount but Bean doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Bean wants to sweep but no luck.
St Pierre postures up in Bean's guard and throws a big left but Bean blocks it.
Bean wants to stand up but St Pierre is controlling him.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Bean throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bean fails with the takedown

and St Pierre counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bean's guard now.
St Pierre wants to control from the top but Bean keeps moving.
St Pierre sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bean's guard.
St Pierre throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
St Pierre seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bean does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
St Pierre has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Bean works to full guard.

St Pierre has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bean uses from the top position.
