Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pete Beaker!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Quinton Jones!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beaker looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Beaker stops Jones from standing up.
Beaker missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Jones is looking to stand up but Beaker isn't so interested in that idea.

Beaker is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jones is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jones has escaped and now he's on top!
Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Beaker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Beaker's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Beaker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Beaker cracks Jones with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Jones is trying desperately to improve position.
BOOM! Beaker connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Jones bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Beaker is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Beaker wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.

Beaker working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Beaker has a closed guard, preventing Jones from standing up.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Beaker ducks under a wild hook from Jones.

Jones misses with a series of wild punches.
Jones lunges at Beaker with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Beaker's hand.
A swing and a miss from Jones.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Jones!
Jones throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jones misses with a body shot.
Jones getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
A slow jab from Jones misses its intended target.
Quinton Jones is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jones pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Beaker slips a jab from Jones.

Jones misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Beaker.
Beaker avoids the body shot from Jones.
Beaker keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Beaker showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jones.
Jones misses with a hook.
Jones throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jones misses with a double jab.
No luck for Beaker with that takedown attempt.
Jones rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Beaker moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Beaker.
Beaker lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jones down.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Beaker is chipping away with strikes.
Beaker advances to full mount.
Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Beaker prevents Jones from getting the reversal.
Beaker in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Beaker landing strikes from the mount and Jones is in trouble!
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Beaker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
A nice elbow there by Beaker.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jones looks gassed!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Beaker with the ground and pound from mount.
Jones tries to hold on but Beaker pushes him away.
BOOM! Beaker connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Beaker lands a nice shot to the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Beaker in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Jones is bucking up trying to escape but Beaker cracks him with another couple of good strikes.


Jones is rocked!
BOOM! Beaker connects with a massive shot to the dome!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pete Beaker dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Beaker drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Jones is still in real trouble! Can Beaker finish him?
Beaker has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Jones seems to have recovered his senses.
Beaker postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Jones bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Beaker and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Pete Beaker!
Pete Beaker is the new light heavyweight champion!
