Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jordan Parise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Buoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jordan Parise could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Danny Buoy's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parise shoots in looking for a takedown. Buoy tries to sprawl out of it but Parise keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Buoy manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Parise misses with a takedown attempt - Buoy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Parise looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jordan Parise. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Horrible takedown by Parise or perhaps it was just good defense by Buoy which made him look bad.
Parise is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Buoy uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

It looks like Jordan Parise has been cut.

Buoy has closed the distance and engaged Parise in a clinch.

Buoy drops Parise with a big left hand and mounts him. Parise is in big trouble!

Buoy wants to finish this one by submission but Parise is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Buoy.
Oh Parise is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Parise is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Buoy gets his way!

Buoy is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Parise knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Parise for a finish.
Buoy doesn't have the hooks in and Parise manages to turn into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Buoy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Parise doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Parise manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Parise will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Buoy sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Buoy misses with the combination.
Parise shoots for a double leg takedown but Buoy sprawls well. He's pushed Parise's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
