The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirby dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Diaz de Vivar cracks the inside of Kirby's front leg.
Diaz de Vivar works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

It looks like Joe Kirby has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kirby will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kirby moves out of range of the strikes.
Diaz de Vivar lets loose with a powerful body kick. Kirby will feel that in the morning.

Diaz de Vivar rushes Kirby and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Diaz de Vivar lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Kirby looks gassed!
Kirby is looking to control Diaz de Vivar's arms but Diaz de Vivar gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kirby has his back to the cage.

Diaz de Vivar breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kirby shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Diaz de Vivar as he avoids it easily.

Kirby shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Diaz de Vivar lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Diaz de Vivar lands a big head kick that sends Kirby tumbling to the mat! Diaz de Vivar takes a step backwards and waves Kirby back to his feet - he wants the finish!

That has opened up Joe Kirby's cut even more.
Diaz de Vivar throws a leg kick which misses Kirby's front leg but catches the back leg as Kirby tries to avoid it.

The cut above Joe Kirby's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Kirby takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Diaz de Vivar fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kirby.
Diaz de Vivar moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Joe Kirby's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Diaz de Vivar ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Diaz de Vivar tries to clinch up.
Diaz de Vivar works the jab nicely.
Kirby tries to close the distance and clinch up but Diaz de Vivar swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Diaz de Vivar lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Diaz de Vivar lands a good knee to the midsection. Kirby won't want to take too many of those.
