Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Meoff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, George Asdington!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asdington shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Meoff sprawls well. Meoff wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Asdington gets slowly back to his feet.
Asdington keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Asdington shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Meoff napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Meoff really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Asdington wants to control for a moment but Meoff uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Meoff wants to get back to his feet.
Meoff trying to control but Asdington postures up.
Well, if Asdington is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Meoff desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Meoff is pressing down on Asdington's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Asdington stops Meoff from standing up.

Meoff scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Asdington shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Meoff defends it nicely.
Meoff gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Asdington moves into the clinch.
Meoff is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Asdington gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Asdington tries for a takedown. No joy.
Jack Meoff has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Asdington.
Meoff can't get the takedown.

Asdington jumps guard and drags Meoff to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Asdington fails with an attempt to clinch.

Asdington is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Asdington has eaten all the pies!
Meoff is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Meoff utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Asdington pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Meoff is keeping the position for now.
Meoff has momentary wrist control but Asdington slips an elbow through the middle.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Meoff is trying to control the position but Asdington postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Asdington tries for a takedown but Meoff circles away easily

and Meoff counters with a single leg into guard. Asdington didn't expect that.
Meoff wants to get up but he can't break Asdington's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Asdington is trying to keep Meoff in close.

Asdington is looking for a triangle here but Meoff uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Meoff throws a strike aimed at the side of Asdington's head but Asdington avoids it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jack Meoff will probably get the nod.

Asdington has his takedown stuffed

and Meoff counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Meoff trying to mount his opponent but Asdington defends it.

Asdington has one foot on Meoff's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Meoff misses with a takedown attempt - Asdington sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Asdington drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Asdington wants to control from the top but Meoff keeps moving.
Meoff pulls Asdington in close to his closed guard and prevents Asdington from doing any damage or advancing position.

Asdington trying to control the position from guard on top but Meoff is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Asdington wanted to stand there but Meoff had control of the position.
Meoff wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Asdington would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Meoff is looking to stand up but Asdington isn't so interested in that idea.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Asdington trying to control but Meoff is working from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Asdington tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Meoff counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Asdington is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Asdington is looking to clinch but Meoff is avoiding it.
Meoff looks to score with a jab to the body but Asdington is just out of range.
Horrible takedown by Meoff or perhaps it was just good defense by Asdington which made him look bad.

and Meoff counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Asdington is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Asdington lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Meoff!
Asdington postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Meoff looks a forlorn figure.
Meoff is wriggling around trying to escape.
Asdington working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Asdington is in the full mount, landing strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Asdington controlling his opponent.
Meoff is trying desperately to improve position.
Asdington trying to control but Meoff is having none of it.
Asdington prevents Meoff from getting the reversal.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Meoff dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Asdington shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Meoff as he jumps to the side.
Asdington closes the distance and clinches up with Meoff, looking for a takedown. Asdington pushes Meoff against the cage but Meoff circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Asdington keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Asdington looks for a takedown but Meoff sprawls well.
Jack Meoff has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Asdington.
Meoff shoots for a double leg takedown but Asdington sprawls well. He's pushed Meoff's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Asdington fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Meoff looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Meoff circles away from the clinch attempt.

and Asdington decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Meoff's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Meoff controls Asdington momentarily but Asdington frees himself.

Asdington drops back looking for a leg! Meoff is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Meoff manages to kick Asdington off! Asdington jumps back into Meoff's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Meoff looking to hit a scissor sweep but Asdington is one step ahead there.
Meoff trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Asdington tries to free his leg and advance position but Meoff is retaining full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Meoff is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Asdington looking to sit in guard and control but Meoff gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Asdington not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Asdington circles away from the clinch attempt
enabling Asdington to counter with a crisp jab.
Meoff uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Asdington.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Asdington throws a wild body kick that Meoff sees coming a mile off.

Asdington has taken the fight to the clinch.

Meoff is trying to trip Asdington. He has hold of a leg but Asdington is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Meoff persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Asdington is pulling down on Meoff's head. It's preventing any offense from Meoff, at least for the moment.
Meoff wants to pass the guard but Asdington is keeping the position.
Meoff postures up.

Asdington is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Meoff defends well.
Meoff has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Asdington trying to keep a closed guard but Meoff is proving a slippery customer.

George Asdington comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Meoff has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
