Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between BJJ Spar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bader Cier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cier comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Elephant Man - Haters (feat Hunt & Jim Jones) kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, BJJ Spar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bader Cier!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cier defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Spar.
Cier looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Spar wants to clinch.
Cier throws a right hand that Spar ducks under and follows up with a left that Spar also avoids with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A right-left combo lands from Cier.

Cier misses with a series of wild punches.
A bone on bone clash there as Cier blocks the leg kick.
Cier displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Spar.
Cier swats away the attempt to clinch by Spar.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Spar throws a combination that misses

and Cier moves into the clinch.
Spar tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cier just stands there and leans against the ropes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for BJJ Spar. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cier breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Cier counters with an inside leg kick.

Spar wants to clinch but Cier slips to the side
and Cier counters with a three punch combo that has Spar backing up. Spar nods at Cier to acknowledge the strikes.

and Cier counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cier.

Spar moves out of range of the body kick from Cier.

and Cier counters with a nice leg kick.

Spar throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cier counters with a one-two to the body.
BJJ Spar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spar slips a jab and a cross from Cier.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Spar. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Cier fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Spar on the side of the head.

and Cier counters by clinching up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Spar shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Spar shoots and misses

and Cier counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cier.
Spar jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Cier walks away with a smile on his face. Spar gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Spar tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Cier makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Cier counters by moving into the clinch.

Cier is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Cier lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes.
Cier holding his opponent close, against the ropes.
Spar goes for a takedown attempt but Cier pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Cier counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Spar tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cier just stands there and leans against the ropes.

Cier pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Spar throws a body kick the misses

and Cier moves into the clinch.
Spar tries to pull guard but Cier won't allow it.
Spar takes a knee right on the jaw!

Cier breaks from the clinch.
Bader Cier is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Spar shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Cier counters with a low kick, right behind Spar 's knee.
Cier misses the shot to the body.
Spar throws a head kick that misses
and Cier counters with a one-two to the body.

Spar closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Spar wants to pass to mount but Cier is defending the position.
Spar wants to control but Cier is keeping him busy.
Cier is trying to stand up here but Spar is controlling him well.
Cier really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Spar. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Spar frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
You get the feeling that Cier really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Cier is looking to get to half guard.

Spar jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Cier manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Spar advances to full mount.
Spar moves to back control.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cier controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Cier is breathing heavily.

Cier is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Spar gets his way!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Spar's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Spar looking for the RNC.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cier is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Spar has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Cier has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Spar has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

and Cier counters with a big head kick but Spar shrugs it off.

Spar tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Spar looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Spar trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Spar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Cier is trying to escape the mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cier flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Cier working to try and regain half guard.
Spar can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cier is looking to escape.
Spar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Spar moves to the back position.
Spar doesn't have the hooks in and Cier manages to turn into his guard.
Cier takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Spar is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Spar is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of BJJ Spar.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Cier's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

I would just about give that final round to Bader Cier.
I think Cier has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
