PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josh Thomison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Logan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Logan has chosen Devildriver - Devils Son as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Logan stuffs the takedown.
A big left from Thomison misses.
Logan looks to score with a jab to the body but Thomison is just out of range.

Thomison closes the distance and clinches.
Thomison can't break the clinch.
Logan is trying to break the clinch but Thomison has him pressed against the cage.

Logan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Thomison shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Logan as he avoids it easily.

Thomison drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Thomison pushes down on Logan's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Logan is looking to escape.
Thomison is tying to control. Logan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Thomison throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Thomison thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Logan to regain full guard.
Logan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Thomison is controlling him.

Logan pushes Thomison off and gets back to his feet.
Logan misses with a two punch combination.
Thomison slips a jab from Logan.
Logan thows a body shot but no joy.
Logan misses with a body shot.
Thomison throws a big shot that misses.
Logan swinging wilding here.
Thomison uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Logan.
Thomison walks into a left hand.
Thomison avoids a punch combination nicely.
Thomison stuns Logan with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
No joy there for Logan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Logan looks gassed!
Thomison closes the distance and lands a one-two.

It looks like James Logan has been cut.
Logan swinging wilding here.
James Logan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Logan throws a predictable looking body shot
and Thomison counters with a big head kick but Logan shrugs it off.
Thomison fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Thomison. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Thomison misses with a wild combination.

Logan defending well as Thomison loads up on a big left hand.
Thomison throws out a loose jab but Logan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Logan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Logan takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Thomison closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Thomison lands in his opponent's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Thomison stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Logan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Thomison stops Logan from standing up.
Thomison passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Thomison has an Americana. Logan didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Thomison is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Thomison hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
