The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Metz shoots in for a takedown but Emelianenko shows good takedown defense.

Metz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Metz drops back looking for a leg! Emelianenko is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Emelianenko manages to kick Metz off! Metz jumps back into Emelianenko's guard.

Metz drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Emelianenko dives on top into guard.

Emelianenko is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Metz is controlling him well.
