The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peterson tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peterson to the ground. Peterson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Peterson throws a series of punches but Silva moves out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Silva.
Gary Peterson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paulo Cesar Silva.
Silva avoids a punch combination nicely.
Peterson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Silva is trying hard to land a takedown here. Peterson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Peterson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Silva shoots in and drives through. Peterson sprawls well.
Peterson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Silva takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Peterson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Silva. Silva circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Peterson drops Silva with a beautiful combination! Silva stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Peterson is looking for the KO!
Peterson rushes Silva with punches - Silva moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Silva goes down! Peterson follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
