Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arne Weisse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryo Sunabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Weisse comes into the arena with David Guetta - Im in Miami Beach blaring out of the sound system. Ryo Sunabe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Arne Weisse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryo Sunabe!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sunabe is pushing Weisse's head away, looking to escape. Weisse manages to hold on to the position though.

Sunabe closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sunabe lands in his opponent's guard.

Weisse manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sunabe manages to get himself to full guard.

Weisse manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Weisse is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sunabe can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Weisse fails to advance to Sunabe's back.
You get the feeling that Sunabe really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Weisse tries to control but Sunabe wriggling away.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


The fight stays on the outside here - Sunabe looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sunabe takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Sunabe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Weisse tries to avoid it but Sunabe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Weisse to the ground. Weisse escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Weisse wants to pass the guard but Sunabe is defending well.

Weisse looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Sunabe tries to kick Weisse off but Weisse keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Good anti-grappling being displayed by Sunabe as Weisse tries to tie him up.
Sunabe stops a takedown attempt from Weisse.
Sunabe is pressed up against the ropes. Weisse has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sunabe down to the mat. Sunabe avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arne Weisse. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Weisse shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sunabe pinned against the cage. Sunabe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Weisse closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Weisse lands in his opponent's guard.

Weisse tries to free his leg and advance position but Sunabe is retaining full guard.

Weisse is keen to just control but Sunabe is a slippery customer.

Ryo Sunabe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Weisse is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sunabe's shoulder. That is not cool.

Well Weisse has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
