Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Syd Scarr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dean Smedley!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smedley stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Smedley wants it to stay on the feet.
Smedley misses with a head kick.
Smedley tries to close the distance and clinch but Scarr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Scarr leaves Smedley with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Smedley tries for a takedown but Scarr sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Scarr throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smedley throws a hook but Scarr blocks it.
A head kick misses from Smedley.
Scarr tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Smedley moves into the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smedley goes for a takedown in the clinch but Scarr prevents it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Smedley controls Scarr momentarily but Scarr frees himself.
Smedley is looking to sweep but instead, Scarr has passed into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Smedley tries to roll over but Scarr keeps him under control.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Scarr wants to clinch up but Smedley keeps it at a distance.
Smedley takes a kick to the side of the head.
Nice sprawl there from Scarr as Smedley shoots in.

Smedley avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Scarr buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Smedley is breathing heavily.
Scarr tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smedley walks into a jab.
Scarr shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Smedley manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Scarr is taking a breather. Smedley says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Smedley is trying to stand back up but Scarr is controlling him
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smedley wants to get back to full guard.
Scarr wants to stand but Smedley has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Scarr passes to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Scarr misses with the ground and pound.
Smedley is looking for a sweep.
Scarr is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Smedley's shoulder. That is not cool.
Smedley is trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Scarr shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smedley as he jumps to the side.
Scarr throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Smedley takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Smedley blocks a head kick by Scarr.
Smedley takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Scarr throws a series of punches but Smedley moves out of range.

Smedley takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Scarr comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Scarr with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Scarr is pushing Smedley up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Smedley wants to break free but Scarr has control.
Scarr utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.

Smedley can't do much from the bottom here.
Smedley might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Scarr kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Scarr wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smedley keeps working.
Scarr takes a little break here. Smedley wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Well Scarr has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
