PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luke Becker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denny Crane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crane has chosen TOUCHED as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Luke Becker had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 206.4lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Denny Crane is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luke Becker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Denny Crane!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crane will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Crane shoots in and drives through. Becker sprawls well.
Becker slaps away a takedown attempt from Crane, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Luke Becker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Denny Crane.

Becker closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Crane did well to prevent Becker getting side control.

Crane is looking for a sweep. Becker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Crane has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Becker is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Crane.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Becker is staying tight to Crane's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Crane tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Becker wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
You can see the frustration on Crane's face as Becker controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Crane tries to buck Becker off but Becker is having none of it.

and Becker decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Crane's guard.
