Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Minoshi Kawajari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leroy Goins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kawajari comes to the cage accompanied by Cinderella Man. The crowd seem to be enjoying Goins's choice of entrance music: Bouncin' Back (Bumpin' Me Against The Wall). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Leroy Goins!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goins throws the left hand but Kawajari avoids the punch easily.
Kawajari checks a leg kick nicely.
Kawajari tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Goins paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Goins ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Kawajari wants to clinch up but Goins keeps it at a distance.
Kawajari walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Goins lands a slapping body shot.
Kawajari blocks a jab.

Goins shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kawajari is trying to defend but Goins finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Goins is pressing down on Kawajari's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kawajari is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Goins trying to control but Kawajari is working from the bottom.
Kawajari is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Goins is pulling down on Kawajari's head to control his posture.
Kawajari stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Goins swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Goins is looking to take a break and control but Kawajari is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Goins lands an overhand right.
Kawajari tries to close the distance and clinch but Goins swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kawajari misses with the combination.
Kawajari stuffs the takedown.

Goins clinches up with Kawajari and pushes him back against the cage.

Kawajari escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Goins fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kawajari manages to avoid it.

and Kawajari takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Goins keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kawajari.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leroy Goins dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Kawajari clinches but Goins breaks the clinch
and Goins counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Goins ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kawajari moves away.
Kawajari wants to clinch but Goins slips to the side
and Goins counters with a stiff right hand.

Kawajari throws a lazy right hand but Goins sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Leroy Goins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kawajari tries to move into range but Goins moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Goins throws a looping overhand right but Kawajari ducks down to avoid it.
Kawajari takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Kawajari closes the distance but Goins moves to the side
and Goins makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Kawajari avoids a punch combination nicely.
Goins throws a leg kick but Kawajari sees it coming and moves out of range.
Goins keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Goins misses with a body shot.
Goins lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kawajari circles away quickly and effectively.

Goins dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kawajari is on top in guard.
Goins looking for a sweep. Not yet Goins, not yet.

Goins escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kawajari gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Goins keeping moving, preventing Kawajari from controlling successfully.
Kawajari postures up in Goins's guard and throws a big left but Goins blocks it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Goins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kawajari looking to sit in guard and control but Goins gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Kawajari looking to hit a scissor sweep but Goins is one step ahead there.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
The fighters circling - Kawajari throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Leroy Goins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Goins drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kawajari manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Goins has Kawajari in his guard.

Goins escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kawajari gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Goins takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Kawajari trying to control the position from guard on top but Goins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kawajari sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Goins's guard.
Kawajari passes the guard and advances to mount!
Kawajari takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Kawajari goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Goins is on top in guard.

Goins drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Kawajari manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Goins has Kawajari in his guard.
Minoshi Kawajari has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Kawajari drops back, looking for a kneebar! Goins looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Goins looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Goins!

I would just about give that final round to Leroy Goins.
Well Goins has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
