Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hector Hoffman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Kayne!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kayne keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Hoffman misses with a jab, cross combination.

Kayne has Hoffman up against the cage in a clinch.
Kayne content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Kayne fails to pull guard.

Kayne jumps into guard, dragging Hoffman to the mat.
Hoffman is fighting to break Kayne's control of his arms but Kayne is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Kayne escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hoffman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kayne lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hoffman!
Hoffman is trying desperately to improve position.

Hoffman tries to hold on but Kayne pushes him away.

Kayne goes for an armbar but Hoffman turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Hoffman.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kayne is on top in guard.

Kayne gets to his feet. Hoffman looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Kayne closes the distance and clinches.
Kayne jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hoffman walks away with a smile on his face. Kayne gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hoffman feints and as Kayne raises his hands in defense, Hoffman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hoffman drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kayne looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kayne looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kayne!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hoffman defending against the ground and pound.
Hoffman is trying to improve his position.
Hoffman dodges the ground and pound from Kayne.
Kayne gets to mount! Hoffman was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Hoffman really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Hoffman looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kayne biding his time, looking for the opening.
Hoffman is trying to get back to his feet but Kayne has full control of the position and if anything, Hoffman has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Kayne punishes Hoffman with strikes from the back mount.
Kayne gets his hands free as Hoffman looks to control.
Hoffman breaks Kayne's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Kayne is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Kayne kicks Hoffman off and gets to his feet.
Kayne changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hoffman tries to avoid it but Kayne manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hoffman to the ground. Hoffman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hector Hoffman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Kayne.
Kayne changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hoffman tries to avoid it but Kayne manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hoffman to the ground. Hoffman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hoffman gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kayne to score an easy takedown into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Kayne dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Hoffman misses with a takedown

and Kayne counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Kayne slows the pace down in half guard.
Hoffman is looking for a sweep. Kayne is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hoffman regains full guard. Nicely done.
Hoffman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hoffman drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kayne dives on top into guard.
Hoffman wants to control the position but Kayne says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Kayne's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Kayne postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Hoffman to stand up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kayne lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kayne shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hoffman sprawls well. Hoffman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kayne gets slowly back to his feet.

Kayne has closed the distance and engaged Hoffman in a clinch.
Hoffman prevents a takedown attempt there.

Kayne breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hoffman shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Kayne counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hector Hoffman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kayne gets to his feet - Hoffman follows without any prompting.

and Kayne counters with a left and a right that stings Hoffman.


Hoffman is rocked!

Kayne rushes Hoffman and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Oh Hoffman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kayne lands a big knee to the head and Hoffman goes down! Kayne pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Kayne!
