PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Olivier Bouleau (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Simon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bouleau comes to the cage accompanied by kevin rudolf - let it rock. Jordan Simon told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Olivier Bouleau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jordan Simon!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bouleau swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bouleau gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Simon.
Bouleau shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Simon defends it nicely.
Simon fails in his attempt to clinch.

Simon moves into range and clinches up with Bouleau.
Bouleau drops down looking for an ankle pick but Simon pulls his leg out and moves away.
Simon uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Bouleau fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Olivier Bouleau. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Simon has taken the fight to the clinch.

Bouleau has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Simon clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Simon has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.

Bouleau is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Simon defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Simon looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Simon turns into Bouleau and is now in his guard.

Bouleau looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Simon is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Bouleau looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Simon has picked Bouleau up and slammed him! Bouleau can't keep hold of the triangle and Simon manages to pass to side control!

Simon stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Simon leaves Bouleau with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bouleau is breathing heavily.
Bouleau circles away from the clinch attempt.
Simon moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Simon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Bouleau shoots for a double leg takedown but Simon sprawls well. He's pushed Bouleau's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Simon works the jab nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Simon lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Simon steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Bouleau is out on his feet! Simon sets himself and nearly takes Bouleau's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
