Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hank Blair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beast Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hank Blair!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Beast Severn!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Severn shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Blair as he avoids it easily.
Severn steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Blair.
Hank Blair seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blair has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Hank Blair has been cut.
Severn shoots for a takedown but Blair saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Blair gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Blair trying to control the position.
Blair looking for a sweep. Not yet Blair, not yet.
Severn tries to free his leg and advance position but Blair is retaining full guard.
Blair is looking to stand up but Severn isn't so interested in that idea.

Severn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blair swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Severn is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Severn avoids the body shot from Blair.
Blair misses with a hook. Severn ducked under it nicely.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Severn closes this distance looking for a takedown but Blair circles away.
Hank Blair has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Beast Severn.
Severn slips a straight right by Blair.
Blair lands a jab to the nose.
Blair scores with a nice head shot.
Blair misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Severn.
Horrible takedown by Severn or perhaps it was just good defense by Blair which made him look bad.
Severn fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Blair avoids it really well and circles away.
Severn takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Blair swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Severn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Blair tries to avoid it but Severn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Blair to the ground. Blair escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Severn looks for a takedown but Blair sprawls well.

Severn uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Blair.
Blair throws the left hand but Severn avoids the punch easily.

Blair cracks Severn with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Blair scores with the left hand. Severn knows he should have avoided that one.
Severn walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Severn shoots for a double leg takedown but Blair sprawls well. He's pushed Severn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
No joy there for Blair, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Severn ducks right into an uppercut from Blair.

Severn moves into the clinch.
Blair tries to break the clinch but Severn is controlling the position.
Blair wants to get back to striking at distance but Severn won't allow it.
Severn drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Severn fails to pull guard.
Blair is trying to break the clinch but Severn has him pressed against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Severn tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Blair smiles and moves away.
Blair connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Hank Blair will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Severn tries for a takedown but Blair sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Severn clinches up with Blair and pushes him back against the cage.
Severn tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Blair just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hank Blair has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Beast Severn.
Severn tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Blair smiles and moves away.

Severn is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Blair is pushing Severn up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Blair throws a right hand that Severn ducks under and follows up with a left that Severn also avoids with ease.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Blair throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Blair connects with a looping right hand.
Blair looks to land a body kick but Severn moved away.

Severn shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Severn was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Blair is just holding on here. Severn manages to take his back.
Severn gets his hands free as Blair looks to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blair is in bad spot here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blair is keeping busy.
Blair looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Blair defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.
Blair wants to get up but he can't break Severn's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Severn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Blair sprawls well. Blair wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Severn gets slowly back to his feet.

Beast Severn is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Blair lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Blair throws a nice looking combination but Severn bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Severn shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Blair's guard.

Blair throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Severn on the side of the head.

Severn takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Nice uppercut lands for Blair. That snapped Severn's head back.
Blair thows a body shot but no joy.
Blair lands with a nice body kick.
Blair misses with a double jab

and Severn counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Severn is working for a submission of some sort.

Severn is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Blair is just riding it out for now. Severn eventually gives up the hold.

Hank Blair showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Blair, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
