Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew DaSilva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raul Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Raul Gracie has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andrew DaSilva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raul Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DaSilva misses with a low kick.
DaSilva goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. DaSilva tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag DaSilva to the ground. DaSilva escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
DaSilva misses with a low kick.
DaSilva displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Gracie shoots in and drives through. DaSilva sprawls well.
DaSilva misses with a head kick.
Andrew DaSilva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A telegraphed right hand from DaSilva misses the target.
DaSilva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gracie paws at him with a jab and circles away.
DaSilva throws a right and a left that both miss.
DaSilva is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gracie.
Nice takedown defense from DaSilva. No joy for Gracie on that attempt.
Andrew DaSilva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raul Gracie.
Gracie tries for a takedown but DaSilva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Gracie goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now DaSilva is on top in guard.

DaSilva gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Gracie shoots in but DaSilva avoids the takedown attempt easily.
DaSilva misses with a series of wild punches.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
DaSilva scores with a kick to the midsection.
DaSilva throws a hook to the side of Gracie's head but Gracie sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

DaSilva lands a big head kick that sends Gracie tumbling to the mat! DaSilva takes a step backwards and waves Gracie back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Raul Gracie has been cut.
DaSilva misses with a few strikes there.
Gracie shoots in but DaSilva avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gracie stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from DaSilva.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from DaSilva lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Gracie has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Gracie and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


DaSilva fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Gracie dives in and grabs DaSilva's left leg, looking for a takedown. DaSilva pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out.
DaSilva throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
DaSilva looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Gracie checks a leg kick.
Gracie takes one on the button.
DaSilva connects with a high kick.
Andrew DaSilva is winning the standup battle so far.
DaSilva tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Gracie is able to avoid easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gracie walks forward, straight into a front kick from DaSilva.

DaSilva throws a front kick aimed at Gracie's knee but Gracie avoids it well.
DaSilva throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
DaSilva cracks Gracie with an open hand slap.
DaSilva looks to land a right hand but Gracie moved out of range.

Gracie shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in DaSilva's guard.

Gracie drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but DaSilva manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gracie has DaSilva in his guard.

DaSilva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, DaSilva has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.

Gracie isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. DaSilva stacks Gracie on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by DaSilva!

Gracie misses with a takedown attempt - DaSilva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Some bone on bone action there as Gracie checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
DaSilva shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
DaSilva throws a push kick but Gracie slaps the foot to one side.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


DaSilva misses with a low kick as Gracie jumps back.
DaSilva misses with a body kick.
DaSilva throws an overhand right that lands on Gracie's shoulder, as Gracie tries to avoid the shot.

DaSilva ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away.
DaSilva throws the left hand but Gracie avoids the punch easily.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gracie jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… DaSilva is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by DaSilva and Gracie has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by DaSilva, who protects the arm well.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Gracie goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, DaSilva rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gracie's guard! Nice work there by DaSilva!

DaSilva decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gracie stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from DaSilva.
DaSilva looks to land a body kick but Gracie moved away.
DaSilva moves in looking to clinch but Gracie pushes him off.
DaSilva throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease.
DaSilva pivots, looking for a leg kick but Gracie is out of range and DaSilva settles back down.
Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from DaSilva.
Gracie closes this distance looking for a takedown but DaSilva circles away.
DaSilva throws a nice inside leg kick.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. DaSilva doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Andrew DaSilva.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for DaSilva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
