PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Negativity Cheed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eduardo Dinis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dinis comes into a darkened arena with his song building. take your mama kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Negativity Cheed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Eduardo Dinis!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dinis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Dinis is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Cheed really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Dinis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cheed keeps working.
Cheed stops Dinis from passing to mount.
Cheed is looking for a sweep.
Dinis tries to move to mount but Cheed blocks the move with his legs.
Cheed can't do much from the bottom here.
Dinis working the ground and pound but Cheed is defending the strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dinis misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Cheed throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Dinis clinches up against the cage.
Cheed looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Cheed ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cheed no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Dinis's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cheed manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dinis manages to get himself to full guard.
Cheed will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dinis keeping moving, preventing Cheed from controlling successfully.
Dinis wants to sweep but no luck.
Dinis is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Dinis is controlling Cheed's posture.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Cheed drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dinis looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dinis looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dinis!
Cheed regains half guard.
Dinis content to control rather than advance.
Dinis wants to pass the guard but Cheed is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Cheed looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Cheed is breathing heavily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cheed tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Cheed is trying to get back to full guard.
Dinis performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Dinis stands up and beckons Cheed to join him on the feet.
Cheed doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Dinis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dinis passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Dinis is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Cheed will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Dinis is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Cheed looks calm but he's in trouble here. Dinis gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Cheed is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Dinis lets go of the hold and Cheed can pop his arm back in it's socket.
