The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makipahkina throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Makipahkina looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Isotalo tries to close the distance and clinch but Makipahkina swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A punch combination from Makipahkina misses.
Isotalo shoots in but Makipahkina avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Isotalo has Makipahkina up against the cage in a clinch.

Isotalo breaks the clinch.
Isotalo throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Makipahkina.
Makipahkina avoids a kick to the body.
Makipahkina fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Makipahkina is looking to land body kicks.

Isotalo closes the distance and clinches.

Isotalo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Isotalo drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Isotalo slips nicely into half guard.

Makipahkina is defending against the submission attempts here by Isotalo.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Makipahkina tries to kick Isotalo off but Isotalo keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Isotalo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Isotalo wants to finish this one by submission but Makipahkina is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Isotalo.
Isotalo fails to move to back control.
You get the feeling that Makipahkina really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Isotalo stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.

Isotalo tries for a kimura but Makipahkina is defending well.

Isotalo is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Makipahkina is trying to escape and Isotalo transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Makipahkina is forced to tap! Nice work there by Isotalo! Very nice indeed!
