Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Vernos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oohlong Phart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for George Vernos has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vernos avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Vernos tries to clinch but Phart moves away
letting Phart counter with a right hand.

Vernos pushes Phart up against the cage in a clinch.
Vernos creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Vernos misses with a knee strike.

Phart is trying to trip Vernos. He has hold of a leg but Vernos is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Phart persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Phart is persistently looking for the submission but Vernos is defending it well.

Phart has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vernos can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Phart escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vernos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Phart throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Vernos escapes and throws Phart's legs to the side, diving into side control!

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Oohlong Phart dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Vernos closes the distance but Phart moves to the side

You can see the frustration on Vernos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Phart creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Vernos sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Oh Vernos is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Phart is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Vernos has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Phart is working away from the top position though.

Oohlong Phart showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
