The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Margarito scores with a nice head shot.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Margarito as he avoids it easily.

It looks like Antonio Margarito has been cut.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Margarito is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Margarito manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Margarito's guard.
Gracie passes Margarito's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Margarito seems to have recovered his senses.
Margarito really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Margarito but Margarito pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Gracie throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Margarito's waist but Margarito gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gracie off to one side.

Margarito throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Margarito stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Margarito wants it to stay on the feet.

and Gracie counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Gracie closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Margarito did well to prevent Gracie getting side control.
Gracie is looking for a kimura but Margarito is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage.
Margarito wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy.
Gracie seems to be working for a kimura but Margarito defends the submission attempt.

Gracie is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Margarito!
Gracie is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Margarito is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Margarito flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Gracie anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Margarito and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Gracie slips an arm under Margarito chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Gracie has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Gracie is squeezing on Margarito like an anaconda would it's prey. Margarito fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Razi Gracie!
