Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Super Jim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mustang James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Super Jim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mustang James!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Mustang James has been cut.

Jim feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jim thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jim drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and James dives on top into guard.
Jim wants to sweep but no luck.

Jim is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Jim working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. James doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. James manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

James escapes and gets back to his feet.
Jim just misses with a punch to the body.

James moves into the clinch.
James is trying to maintain a safe position but Jim gets an underhook and turns James into the cage.

James escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jim connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed James momentarily.
Jim misses with a jab, cross combination.
James looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jim shoots in looking for a takedown. James tries to sprawl out of it but Jim keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. James manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

James pushes Jim up against the cage in a clinch.
James tries for a takedown. No joy.

James pulls guard effortlessly.

Jim is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! James is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! James has escaped and now he's on top!

James decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jim, up you get!
James throws a head kick but Jim moves out of range.
A nice combination there by Jim.

Jim lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but James circles away quickly and effectively.

and Jim counters with a shoot takedown. James fights it but they end up in guard.

James is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jim defends well.

Jim drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but James manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jim has James in his guard.

Jim is working an open guard so James takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Jim!
James doesn't manage to clinch there - Jim circles away.
Jim swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and James counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by James.
Jim is trying to drag James to the mat but James just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

James breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

James shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jim's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jim has his foot on James's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. James works his way back into a safe position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jim avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
James swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Jim counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Super Jim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jim defends it nicely.

James got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jim has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, James has managed to get both his arms back between Jim's legs - danger averted.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jim has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but James can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

James decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
James keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
James tries a head kick but it misses.

Super Jim overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

James works Jim's body with a nice hook.
Jim looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James closes the distance and lands a one-two.

James shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jim napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Jim bucks up and tries to throw James off but instead James has got his back!

Jim rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

James is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

James is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

James shoots in and bounces Jim off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
James wants to get up but he can't break Jim's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

James drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jim looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jim looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jim!

Jim is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, James has escaped the position, nice work there.

Jim is trying to get an arm triangle but James is defending well.
Mustang James has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Jim thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mustang James comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jim has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
