Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sento Karushiyaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Sherm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karushiyaki's entrance music is Drake- Over. A fine choice. Frank Sherm has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sento Karushiyaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Frank Sherm!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karushiyaki throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sherm.
Karushiyaki looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Karushiyaki uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sherm.
Karushiyaki fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sherm. Karushiyaki does a little dance to reset his feet.

Karushiyaki lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sherm circles away quickly and effectively.
Karushiyaki avoids the body shot from Sherm.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sherm changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Karushiyaki tries to avoid it but Sherm manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Karushiyaki to the ground. Karushiyaki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Sento Karushiyaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Sherm.

Sherm throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Karushiyaki stalks Sherm and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sherm's face. Sherm staggers backwards, shaken.

Sento Karushiyaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sherm.
Sherm throws a shot from downtown. Karushiyaki moves away and avoids it.

Karushiyaki tries to bum rush Sherm with a series of wild strikes but Sherm uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Sherm shoots in for a double leg but Karushiyaki sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Karushiyaki throws a series of punches but Sherm moves out of range.
Karushiyaki misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Karushiyaki moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Karushiyaki doesn't manage to clinch there - Sherm circles away.
Sherm is trying desperately to land a takedown but Karushiyaki is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Sherm.

Sherm closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Sherm is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Karushiyaki knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sherm on the ground.
Karushiyaki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Sherm seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Sherm is breathing heavily.
Karushiyaki tries to roll over but Sherm keeps him under control.
Karushiyaki is trying is best to control the position here.
Karushiyaki misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Sherm has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sherm is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Karushiyaki to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Karushiyaki shrugs it off.

Sherm swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Karushiyaki is now in Sherm's guard. A big mistake from Sherm there, giving up the dominant position!

Sherm is staying active underneath Karushiyaki, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Karushiyaki looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Karushiyaki lands a big shot there that rocks Sherm but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Sherm isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Karushiyaki stacks Sherm on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Karushiyaki!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Frank Sherm comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Karushiyaki has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
