Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Victor Conroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sub Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sub Jones is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Victor Conroy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Sub Jones!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Paul Tew and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conroy shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Conroy looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Jones misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Conroy is looking to advance position but Jones won't allow it.

Conroy looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Conroy seems to be working for a kimura but Jones defends the submission attempt.

Conroy throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Jones is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Conroy pulls his head out easily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Conroy tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Conroy sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Conroy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.
Conroy with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Conroy distracts Jones with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Conroy lands a big elbow.

Conroy has control of Jones's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jones regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

and Jones counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Conroy!

Jones with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Conroy somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!

Conroy clinches up with Jones and pushes him back against the ropes.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jones is working for takedown but Conroy is calmly controlling the position for now.

Jones has had enough of the clinch but Conroy keeps him there for the moment.

Conroy turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Conroy manages to end up in side control.

Jones decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Conroy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well.
Conroy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jones drops back looking for a leg! Conroy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Conroy manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Conroy's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jones wants to stand but Conroy is controlling his posture from full guard.

Jones is sitting in close to Conroy's body. Conroy has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Jones is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Jones is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Conroy.
